Our Mission

"Muhammad Altaf & Co. aims to contribute towards improving the quality of life of people living in such areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan in particular and the third world in general that are affected by poverty, illiteracy or other socioeconomic inequilibria. We aim to achieve this by effecting an appropriate mix of direct and indirect interventions in the regions requiring such assistance the most.

Our indirect interventions comprise of providing high quality professional services, in the fields of accountancy, management consulting and business process outsourcing, to organizations forming the development paradigm of the third world.

For our direct intervention we strongly believe that the most important aspect to be secured for achieving sustainable development is to make professional education accessible to the youth of the third world; the education that is not only low cost but also of the highest professional standards. We intend to make such professional education within reach of the youth of thirdworld with out regard to cast, creed, religion or origin.

Core objective at the heart of Muhammad Altaf & Co. is to improve the quality of life of people living in developing countries. We therefore remain cognizant of any further direct or indirect intervention that we can conveniently combine with the existing objects and activities of the Company in order to achieve our ultimate goal.

To the stakeholders of public policy we remain committed to giving, by example and through thought leadership, newer, more effective strategies towards achieving socioeconomic development in third world economies; strategies that are adaptable at large, befitting to the cultural practices and social structures, and, most importantly, are the ones that are ultimately accepted and owned by the masses for whom those strategies are developed."

Vision 2019

During the year 2014 Muhammad Altaf & Co. aims to establish a school in Karachi to cater early and middle years general education. Along with this, during the year 2014 we intend to increase our portfolio of clients in Accountancy, Management Consulting and Outsourcing service lines to a sizeable one in order to expand our business horizon. During the medium term of the next two years, 2015-2016, the Company aims to achieve existence in Dubai to cater education and consulting needs of the middle eastern market. Long term objectives of the Company are to extend its operations to Middle East and Africa (MEA) region until 2019.

History of Muhammad Altaf & Co. 

It all began when one individual, Muhammad Altaf Hussain, inspired by his experiences of war-stricken masses in Afghanistan and North Western Pakistan during his Accountancy career, decided to contribute something to the invaluable efforts of Development sector stakeholders in these countries. Initially, he kept serving this cause from the platform of various employers by offering his services in the areas of accountancy and management consulting. However, with effect from May 2009 he decided to give legal instance to his individual effort thus forming Development Solutions Afghanistan, the first Consulting practice set up by Muhammad Altaf in Kabul, Afghanistan. Later in 2013 he set up another Consulting practice in Karachi, the business capital of Pakistan in the name and style of Muhammad Altaf & Co., which took over the practice and intellectual property of Development Solutions Afghanistan. The organization is not there to exist as a run-of-the-mill professional services offering positioned specifically to a particular sector. Rather it proposes a whole new thought pattern to the decision makers of the development world. Our belief as to what is the most effective approach to bringing in socioeconomic development using nongovernmental intervention is based on a development model called "NonGovernmental Economic Institutions (ENGIn) Development Model" conceived by the Founder of Muhammad Altaf & Co. in Dec 2003 that is discussed on the page titled "Our Philosophy".
